Privacy policy

Candela collects nothing

The short version: Candela has no servers, no account, and no tracking. Nothing you do in the app is ever sent anywhere.

Data not collected

This matches Candela's App Store privacy label: no data is collected from this app.

1No data collection

Candela does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no email or profile is required to use the app. There is no server to send anything to — Candela is a standalone app on your device.

2No tracking, analytics, or ads

Candela contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. It makes no network connections and does not use any identifiers for tracking across apps or websites.

3Camera

Candela uses the camera only to measure the light in the scene in real time, on your device, in order to calculate exposure. No photograph or video is ever captured, recorded, or saved, and no camera data leaves your device.

4Your data stays on your device

Your rolls, film profiles, notes, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, this data is included automatically in your personal iCloud backup, which is stored in your own iCloud account and managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. The developer of Candela has no access to your iCloud backup or its contents.

5Exporting and sharing

When you choose to export or share a roll — for example as a text sheet or a CSV file — that action is entirely under your control and sends the data only to the destination you pick in the iOS share sheet. Candela never shares anything on its own.

6Children

Candela does not collect data from anyone, including children.

7Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
